GOLDEN
DAYS AHEAD
From the beginning, our mission has been fine jewelry for every day, for our damn selves. As we grew one Monday Drop at a time, so did a movement. While we built Mejuri with a lens of diversity, equality, inclusion and sustainability, we continue to work towards a better future within our communities, our supply chain, our teams and the world at large. Because the future isn’t just bright—it’s golden.

In June 2020, we established a fund that focuses on one simple idea: when women are empowered to lead, they empower everyone around them, promoting collaboration, fairness and equality. Our mission is to empower the next generation of leaders to take on leadership (and the world) on their own terms.
Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA)

I know from my own experiences that arming someone with education gives them optionality in the future to take control of their lives. There is nothing I believe more. And despite what we as women are often told, it isn’t and never has been selfish to take care of yourself and to invest in your future.

OUR INITIATIVES
Black Business and Professional Association Scholarships
In Canada, Mejuri pledged $68,000 CAD to scholarships for Black women and Black non-binary people in partnership with the Black Business Professionals Association (BBPA). For over 38 years, the BBPA has been advancing Canada’s Black communities by delivering programs that support business and professional excellence, higher education and economic development.

How the $68,000 was distributed:
- 10 scholarships x $5000 CAD each
- $11,200 USD in discretionary (emergency) funding
- $6,800 in administrative fees

Ten recipients, vetted in partnership with the BBPA, were selected from hundreds of incredible applications based on need and alignment with our values. All ten recipients received their awards in November 2020.
United Negro College Fund Scholarships
In the United States, Mejuri pledged $70,000 USD to scholarships for Black women and Black non-binary people in partnership with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). The UNCF envisions a nation where all Americans have equal access to college education and is the United States’ largest private scholarship provider to minority group members. They have helped over 500,000 students earn their college degrees since its founding.

How the $70,000 USD was distributed:
- 10 scholarships x $5000 USD each
- $11,600 USD in emergency funding
- $8,400 in administrative fees

Ten recipients, vetted in partnership with the UNCF, were selected from hundreds of incredible applications based on need and alignment with our values. As of January 2021, all ten recipients have received their awards.
