A Night on the Town: See our Diamonds in Brooklyn

Beyond their symbolic meanings—like strength, love, and health—diamonds actually impart many contradictions. They’re precious yet made of pure carbon (the hardest naturally occurring substance); on their own, they’re rife with meaning but in pavé form, mean a lot less; and, like most jewelry, can be real or faked (i.e. mined or lab grown). In fact, they are so malleable, almost waiting to be interfered with, they can now be born via everything from Ranch dressing to thin air—and still manage to rack up a steep price.

But at Mejuri, where we believe fine jewelry is meant to be worn every day, we’ll also tell you that diamonds should be as accessible as they are unique. Our gemstones aren’t just ethically sourced but pass tests for everyday wear, too.

It’s why, if you ask us, we’ll always tell you: just buy the damn diamond.

Recently, director Andres Burgos captured some of our standout diamond pieces in Brooklyn, where jewelry is as much a reflection of identity as it is of personal style. For Burgos, whose work is influenced by the city and those who embody its hard exterior and soft interior, jewelry is more than just an accessory.

“This shoot is about the in-between moments of nightlife and going out,” Burgos says. “When you go out and take your diamonds with you, you’re not just accessorizing, but you’re bringing attention to both the focal points and corners of your body; to the parts of you that are unconditionally sexy. We should take value, pride, and excitement in dressing up; fashion is an inextricable part of who you are.”

Check out our Diamond Necklace, Diamond Tennis Bracelet, Bold Huggie Hoops, and more, as seen through Burgos’ lens—on film and video.
